Dear friends, as you’ve probably noticed, I’m a true outdoor guy. Whether on horseback, biking across alpine pastures or simply unwinding in the Tyrolean mountains – nature gives me all the strength I need for a tough competition winter.

There’s good news on the equipment side too. My contract with my ski brand Rossignol has been extended by three years. In spring we went through lots of points, and Rossignol met all my wishes. We’re in close contact to find the perfect setup. The product is good and suits my skiing style perfectly.

All in all, great prospects for the coming season. On top of that, our training is going very well, and physically I’m quite a bit stronger this year than last season. We’ve just spent three weeks training in the Pitztal, with ideal conditions and a training programme that’s going exactly to plan. In the Pitztal there was a long steep slope that allowed runs of a full minute – ideal training for the energy-sapping giant slalom. Plus, this season I have more experience. No wonder I’m itching for the new season to start and can hardly wait to get going. With your support as an extra motivational boost, I’m sure we’ll have a very intense, exciting and successful season this year.
