Things can turn around very quickly

It’s been a difficult season so far, let’s not kid ourselves. Sometimes things just work and you don’t know why, and sometimes it’s the other way round. I’ve trained hard and worked a lot, and yet I’m not where I want to be.

In Zagreb I put down a really good first run and was really fast. In the second run I couldn’t cope with the slightly rougher slope. In Madonna I was very fast in training and then much too slow in the race. In general the slopes are very challenging this year. There’s been hardly any precipitation, so the slopes dry out. It’s just a crazy season.

Then in Kitz there was a ray of light – that was really awesome again. Right up front after the first run, I was still fastest in the second run up to the second split, but somehow the thought crept in: “Nothing can go wrong now”, and I just wanted to get to the finish. Still, I was happy with that run. In Schladming I was the best Austrian, but you can’t be happy with 15th place.

Never mind, it’s behind me, I’m looking ahead, and there are still some exciting races to come. I’m in top shape, mentally fully engaged, and I’ll keep working. It’ll come together again, and I’m sure the next successes are only a matter of time. I can only ask you to be a little more patient and keep believing in me. In our sport things can turn around very quickly. By the way, many thanks for all the kind and encouraging words. They give me strength and a bit of extra motivation.

By the way: don’t forget to enter my competition. There are some really cool prizes to win.
You’ll find all the details on my Facebook page.

Here’s to celebrating success together soon – and good luck in the competition.
Yours, Michi
